Michigan State recruiting has a visit planned with three-star 2018 wide receiver Taj Mustapha from West Bloomfield, Mich.

A little over a week ago, Michigan State extended an offer to three-star 2018 wide receiver Taj Mustapha from West Bloomfield, Mich. Now, he’s scheduling a visit to East Lansing which may be a crucial one for Mark Dantonio and the staff.

According to Sean Scherer of 247Sports, the three-star local prospect will be in East Lansing this Sunday with his father on an unofficial visit. Could there be a commitment watch?

Well, if former teammate at West Bloomfield Trishton Jackson has anything to say about it, he will be a Spartan in no time. The two played together in 2015 when Jackson was a senior quarterback and do-it-all performer and Mustapha was a sophomore wide out.

Now Jackson is one of the top receivers on the team at Michigan State and is hoping that his former teammate will join the receiving corps. In fact, Jackson might be the top wide out on the Spartans’ roster in the 2017 season, if the spring game was any indication of what to expect.

Mustapha stands 6-foot-2 and weighs about 175 pounds. He could afford to add some muscle to his frame, but he’s as sure-handed as they come. His concentration with the ball in the air is unparalleled and he can make some incredible catches in traffic. In the open field, he’s hard to catch up to and he’s great with the ball in his hands.

A visit to campus is big for the Spartans as they might be sealing the deal. Mustapha is ranked the No. 856 player and 22nd-best in-state prospect for 2018, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Western Michigan, Toledo and Syracuse, among others.
