Former Michigan State football star Malik McDowell has inked a deal, officially, with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks have signed former Michigan State star Malik McDowell to a four-year deal on Thursday. He was Mark Dantonio highest draft selection in the class and the fourth-highest ever since he’s been the head coach at MSU.

McDowell was selected No. 35 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, which was somewhat of a surprise seeing as he was once considered a top-15 pick.

According to The Seattle Times, McDowell’s contract will be four years, worth $6.9 million. His signing bonus is worth $3.198 million and he will earn $1.2 million, $1.5 million, $1.9 million and then $2.2 million over his contract. He will be making the most of any Spartans selected or signed following the 2017 NFL Draft, obviously.

The Spartans will now look to replace McDowell, and it won’t be easy. Raequan Williams looks to be the top option to step up at defensive tackle while Mike Panasiuk is right there with him. McDowell is a tough player to replace since he could have such a large impact on the game when he’s playing his best.
