Yet another 2018 Michigan State target has revealed his list of top schools and the Spartans have made the cut once again. Three-star receiver Meechi Harris from Xenia, Ohio, put the Spartans on his short list this week.

The three-star receiver from the Buckeye State revealed his list of top nine schools on Tuesday and the Spartans seem to be in good shape.

Michigan State joins the likes of West Virginia, Purdue, Iowa State, Cincinnati, Syracuse, Kentucky, Minnesota and Toledo in Harris’ top nine. The Spartans have had more recent success than the rest of the potential suitors, but that doesn’t always translate to commitments. Moreover, neither do 3-9 seasons.

However, the Spartans seem to be in good shape with Harris. Many believe Michigan State is a favorite and Ohio State was up there, but since it didn’t extend an offer, the Buckeyes seem to be off the table.

According to his highlight tape, Harris had 41 catches for 663 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. That’s actually quite impressive for the high school level seeing as many schools stick to the run game. He has speed to burn and is a heck of a return man — opponents regularly tried, to no avail, to kick away from him.

Harris is ranked the No. 406 player in the class and the 67th-best receiver, according to 247Sports. He knows how to turn a short reception into big yardage and his five return touchdowns as a junior are intriguing for special teams purposes.
