Michigan State Football: Matt Dotson has message for doubters

Incoming Michigan State football freshman tight end Matt Dotson has a message for the Spartans’ doubters.

Coming off a mediocre season, Michigan State football fans aren’t quite sure what to expect from the Spartans in 2017. Well, there’ll be a new quarterback in place, but with the sexual assault case still pending, it’s unclear who he will have on the team surrounding him.

This has led to certain publications and sites to doubt the Spartans. While the doubt is warranted, Mark Dantonio has proven time and time again that his team is better as an underdog.

Bleacher Report posted a tweet about teams that will likely be trending in the wrong direction in 2017, and Michigan State was one of them. Incoming freshman tight end Matt Dotson didn’t exactly like what he saw, so he had words for the doubters.

This is the type of Spartan attitude that fans and coaches have been craving since 2015. You doubt us and we will make you look silly. Dotson called out the Bleacher Report article and made some new fans in the process.

It’s tough to tell just how the Spartans will fare in 2017, but if the confidence oozing from the returning, and incoming, players is any indication, they will be just fine.

Dotson will likely be a big part of the Spartans’ offense in 2017 as Josiah Price has moved on, leaving a void at tight end. Will the four-star end be proactive in improving the Spartans in 2017? It looks, and sounds, that way.
