Michigan State recruiting is getting a ‘Plan A’ visitor this weekend in 2018 defensive tackle PJ Mustipher.

With the spring game coming up, Michigan State recruiting is planning on getting some top targets on campus. Coming a little bit early, four-star 2018 defensive tackle PJ Mustipher plans to visit East Lansing on Friday, unofficially.

The four-star from Owings Mills, Md., is a ‘Plan A’ target for the Spartans and he would be a welcomed addition to a thin defensive line. He was offered by Mark Dantonio last January and took another unofficial last April.

According to his Twitter, Mustipher plans on taking a two-day unofficial visit to East Lansing this weekend.

This is a great time to visit because the campus will be buzzing with NCAA Tournament hype. Michigan State plans on Friday evening in Tulsa and you know the football coaching staff will try to gather some people together to watch the game. Oh yeah, and it’s St. Patrick’s Day in East Lansing which will already have a party-like atmosphere.

It’s atmospheres like that which can make a young recruit want to attend a certain school. Attending a school that is good at both basketball and football can be extremely important to recruits because that gives them more things to do in the offseason.

Mustipher has nice size for a defensive tackle, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing about 285 pounds. He’s quick off the ball and has a knack for reading plays. He even has the ability to make offensive linemen miss with quick moves off the snap.

Right now, he seems like a Notre Dame lean, but he’s also been offered by Alabama, Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, West Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.
