The investigation seems to be ongoing, but we are nearing the final punishments and Michigan State is doing things by the book. It’s an ugly situation, but the university is taking the right steps in the investigation process.

Blackwell has been suspended with pay according to MSU spokesman Jason Cody, MLive‘s Kyle Austin revealed in a report.

"MSU spokesman Jason Cody confirmed the suspension, but declined to provide any further details.Blackwell was hired by Michigan State in August 2013. He previously was co-director of the Sound Mind, Sound Body Football Academy, a large and prominent series of football camps across the country attended by a host of high-level football coaches. At Michigan State, his duties include overseeing the team’s recruiting efforts and, according to his team bio, to serve as a mentor to current players. His title is director of college advancement and performance."

This is a difficult matter to discuss or even to try and dissect, but the university is taking the proper steps to punish those involved with the crime. Since Blackwell is being suspended with pay, it seems as if he may have had information but didn’t come forth with it right away. The suspension is the right step to make during the investigation.
