Michigan State recruiting offered five-star 2019 small forward Keion Brooks this week, but could the Spartans already lead the way?

Has Tom Izzo found his next gem? While the Spartans’ head coach may have less than 5-10 years left in him, he’s still planning for future recruiting classes and 2019 has been on his mind lately. He offered five-star small forward Keion Brooks just a couple of weeks ago.

Brooks is one of the top recruits in the nation for the 2019 class and, not surprisingly, that crop of recruits could wind up being Izzo’s best yet. You may think 2016 would be hard to top, but there are many talented prospects the head coach is eyeing in future classes.

According to a recent tweet by 247Sports‘ Michigan State recruiting expert Sean Scherer, this was the offer Brooks was waiting for.

It’s refreshing for Izzo to hear a kid speak so highly of the program, especially when it’s considered ‘the offer’ that he was waiting for. Izzo has built the program up to receive that type of recognition from kids in the Midwest.

The Fort Wayne, Ind., native is ranked the No. 17 recruit in the class, seventh-best small forward and top prospect from the Hoosier State, according to 247Sports‘ composite. He stands 6-foot-8 and weighs a feathery 185 pounds, but has plenty of room to grow.
