October has already started, but it’s never too late for some bold predictions. Michigan State football is five games into the season and head coach Mark Dantonio has reason to believe that this team could be well on its way to a Big Ten and national title.

The Spartans have been underachieving a bit, beating teams like Western Michigan, Air Force, Central Michigan and Purdue by too slim of margins, causing some doubt in Spartan Nation.

Michigan State is still ranked No. 4 in the country, dropping two spots from last week, and a big win this Saturday over Rutgers would help them get back into the top three conversation.

Let’s take a look at the five bold predictions for this Michigan State football team for the remainder of the month when it comes to recruiting, star players and on-field performances. No. 1 may surprise you.

Bonus Prediction: Donnie Corley commits

Yes, I know I’ve had this multiple times in monthly bold predictions articles in the past, but I’m sticking with it. Four-star wide receiver Donnie Corley has seemingly been leaning toward Michigan State for a while now, but he has been scheduling official visits while the time ticks down to the final weeks of decision time.

One thing that may have helped the Spartans chances was his decision to be an early enrollee to whichever school he selects. That means that colleges have until around December to try and sway Corley away from MSU.

Don’t be surprised if he commits to Michigan State by the middle of November or after Detroit King wins the state title — they look unbeatable right now.
