Michigan State Basketball: ’14 PG Lourawls Nairn Jr. Commits to Michigan State

Tom Izzo finally landed a verbal commitment for the 2014 recruiting class in Lourawls Nairn Jr who is a 4 star point guard out of Kansas. After missing out on Tyler Ulis roughly two weeks ago to Kentucky and seemingly never to be a serious contender for Tyus Jones, Izzo had to look elsewhere for a point guard that will be desperately needed after Appling leaves East Lansing after this season. Michigan State didn’t get involved in Nairns’ recruitment until late in August. Nairn officially visited Michigan State on September 13th and raved about the visit saying it went “Great”. A week later, he visited Indiana and then shortly after that visit he set up his press conference to announce his decision. There was speculation that Nairn would be attending Indiana due to the quick decision after the visit, but that wasn’t so. The Spartans are still expected to take at least 3 more players for the 2014 class and are still in on a few top prospects including Cliff Alexander and Devin Booker.
