We’re winding down the regular basketball season. After three straight losses, the Michigan State Spartans will be looking for a win tonight when they go up against the Wisconsin Badgers for the second time during Conference play. This will be the next-to-last game before the 2013 tournament season begins. If the Spartans can hold their position, they can see a chance at a slot on the March Madness bracket.

Tom Izzo’s team has beat the Badgers four times in a row. In the most recent meeting, the Spartans won 49-47 at the Kohl Center. Tonight’s game will be heated as both teams will really be striving for the win. It will be vital that all the Michigan State team members look alive tonight, limit their own turnovers, and force turnovers on the Badgers. They are just two of four teams tied for second place behind Indiana in the Big Ten Conference.

Tonight’s Spartans starting lineup is:

  • Kieth Appling
  • Gary Harris
  • Branden Dawson
  • Adreian Payne
  • Derrick Nix

So you can tell that Izzo is bringing out his heavy-hitters tonight. With tip-off set to start in 5 minutes, it’s time to start chanting “Go Green! Go White!” Let’s cheer the guys on to a much-needed victory against the Badgers! (I’d love to see this Spartans team go on to the championships).
