The Michigan State Spartans are going up against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in today’s 8:00 pm game. The Spartans are looking to add a fifth game to their four-game winning streak. The last time MSU went up against the Huskers on January 13, the Spartans won by ten points 66-56. After the 75-52 win against Michigan, the Spartans were in the top spot for the Big Ten. They are currently tied with Indiana for the top spot, so a win today will put them a half game ahead once again. Kieth Appling is just 13 points away from having 1,000 career points. It will be excellent to watch him hit that milestone mark.
The Spartans will have to be alive when it comes to defense today, since Nebraska has six team members who have scored 20 points or more per game. On the side of Spartan offense, Gary Harris is turning out to be a young star and is on his way to becoming the best freshman player in Spartan history. But he’s not just a solid offensive player, he can play solid defense as well.
Travis Trice is out again for this game, still having concussion-like symptoms. Luckily, Brandon Dawson has checked out fine after being hit in the Michigan game in the face and having a headache following the game.
I’m looking forward to the guys take the court and take home another win. Go green! Go white!
