Reschke chose Mark Dantonio’s Spartans over the Michigan Wolverines. This outside linebacker committed early to the Spartans – back on February 17th of last year, and he will be part of a long line of Brother Rice High School stars to go on to play for Michigan State. He announced his decision on Twitter.
The four-star outside linebacker stayed within his home state of Michigan. This 6’2″ 230 pound player from Sterling Heights was the second player to commit to Michigan State. Class of 2013 teammate Gerald Holmes was the first.
This is Michigan State’s eighth signee of the day, adding to a class that is made up of 18 players in total. Of the 18 possible signees, there are two outside linebackers: Shane Jones, who signed earlier today and Reschke. The two will be replacing graduating senior Steve Gardiner. Reshke is an All-American football player and he helped Brother Rice win back-to-back Division 2 state championships. Additionally, Reshke led the team in tackles (133) and TFL (21) as a senior. Coach Dantonio Tweeted the following about Reschke:
#8 J. Reschke (Brother Rice, MI): 2 time State Champ, 351 TKLS, explosive, hits on the rise, active, high FB IQ, 4-Star. #Spartans2013

Reschke will make an explosive and influential player on the team in 2013.
