Halftime Score: MSU 13 - Minnesota 7

At the end of the first quarter, Minnesota was in the lead, with a 6-7 score. During the second quarter, the Spartans held the Golden Gophers in their places. Andrew Maxwell continued to have problems completing passes, and threw the ball to the opposing team within reach of the end zone. Le’Veon Bell attempted to jump over the defense, but failed and was brought down. He did bring about a first down. Lucky for the Spartans, the next time they were near their goal, Maxwell threw a wobbly pass to Bennie Fowler, who ran the ball in for a contested touchdown. The ref originally called “out of bounds” at the two yard line, but upon review, they decided to allow the touchdown as fair. With the extra point, this brought Michigan State into the lead, 13-7. To keep the lead, the Spartans will have to work on their passing and maintain a strong defense.
