J.T. Stenglein Commits To Michigan State Hockey For 2013-14 Season

19 year old forward J.T. Stenglein has committed to play for Michigan State, and will be wearing the green and white next fall.

Stenglein is currently in his third year with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL. Last year he scored 31 goals and dished out 20 assists for 51 points, setting a Phantom franchise record for goals scored in a season. So far this season he has 6 goals and 5 assists, giving him 11 points in 11 games.

The Greece, N.Y. native was also on the U.S. Junior Select Team that took gold at the World Junior A Challenge in Nova Scotia last weekend. Stenglein scored the game winning goal of gold medal match, which ended with Team USA victorious 6-3 over Canada West. He finished the tournament with a total of 2 goals and 2 assists, giving him 4 points in 4 games.

Stenglein is the first recruit to commit to Michigan State this season.
