Michigan State football: Bullough third-best defender in conference

Michigan State linebacker Max Bullough ranked third-best defender in Big Ten, according to BTN.com.

Blogger Brent Yarina released his weekly player rankings Monday and Bullough was the only Spartan on the list. However, Bullough was on the list last week at the same position, so that is good.

“Bullough and the Spartans were off this past week,” Yarina wrote, “and they need on victory in the final two (vs. Northwestern; at Minnesota) to become eligible.”

Yarina is right, but Michigan State only stands a chance against Minnesota. Northwestern almost pulled off the upset against Michigan Saturday and have an explosive offense with quarterback Kain Colter and running back Venric Mark. If the Spartans become bowl eligible, it will be against Minnesota.

He added, “The Spartans were off on Saturday. That gave them time to contemplate the near future in a season with recalibrated goals. MSU is 5-5 and needs one more win for bowl eligibility. Those Big Ten title dreams? They died weeks ago.”

Not really exciting analysis, but he did not saying anything that was wrong.
