Local: Notre Dame trounces Oklahoma late in Norman 30-13

Big Game Bob couldn’t contain the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Saturday. Notre Dame rallied late to put up 17 unanswered points, and the Irish ended up beating the Sooners 30-13.

Irish quarterback Everett Golson completed 13 of 25 passing attempts for 177 yards. Tailbacks Cierre Wood and Theo Riddick each rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and receiver TJ Jones caught five receptions for 55 yards.

Oklahoma QB Landry Jones struggled in this game, despite completing 35 passes for 356 yards. Rusher Damien Williams carried the ball 13 times for 29 yards for the Sooners, and Jalen Saunders nabbed 15 receptions for 185 yards.

Notre Dame (8-0) will host the Pitt Panthers next Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium.

Oklahoma (5-2, 3-1 Big 12) will travel to Jack Trice Stadium to play the Iowa State Cyclones in a Big 12 matchup.
