Local: Eastern Michigan destroyed by Bowling Green 24-3

Eastern Michigan only scored a field goal Saturday, as the Eagles lost to the Bowling Green Falcons 24-3 at Perry Stadium in Bowling Green, Oh.

Tyler Benz completed only 11 of 24 passes for 114 yards and an interception. Bronson Hill carried the ball 13 times for 57 yards, and Tyreese Russell reeled in two receptions for 50 yards, but it wasn’t enough for EMU.

BGSU QB Matt Schilz completed nine passes for 78 yards. John Pettigrew rushed for 136 yards on 24 yards, and Shaun Joplin recorded two receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown.

On defense for the Falcons, Gabe Martin intercepted Benz.

Eastern Michigan (1-7, 0-4 MAC) will travel to take on Ohio this coming Thursday.

Bowling Green (6-3, 4-1 MAC) will travel to Peden Stadium on Nov. 7 to take on the Ohio Bobcats.
