Thanks to a 21-point third quarter, the Buckeyes were able to put away the Nittany Lions 35-23 Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller completed seven passes for 143 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also carried the ball 25 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Carlos Hyde also rushed 22 times for 55 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Jake Stoneburner grabbed two receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown.
Penn State QB Matt McGloin struggled Saturday, completing only 27 of 45 passes for 327 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Zach Zwinak carried the ball 12 times for 42 yards, and receiver Kyle Carter caught six receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown.
Ohio State (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) will play against the Illinois Fighting Illini in Ohio Stadium next weekend.
Penn State (5-3, 3-1 Big Ten) will travel to Ross-Ade Stadium to take on the Purdue Boilermakers next Saturday.
