Michigan State football: Michigan only ranked Big Ten team in USA Today Coaches Poll

In Week Eight of the USA Today Coaches Poll, Michigan was the only Big Ten team to make an appearance in the poll. The Wolverines pancaked the Illini on Saturday 45-0 in Ann Arbor, and, boy, does Michigan look like a powerhouse right now—regardless of the tomato-can teams the Maize and Blue have played.

Despite Ohio State’s win, the Buckeyes are ineligible to garner a vote from the coaches because of the team’s postseason ban. Michigan State wasn’t ranked this week, as expected, after losing to Iowa in double overtime 19-16.
