Michigan State doesn't crack Spartan Avenue's Fansided Top 25 ballot

This week featured the most movement our ballot has ever had, as week six featured the most ranked versus ranked opponents so far this season.

Michigan State hasn’t done enough to earn a spot in this week’s ballot, especially after narrowly beating Indiana 31-27 on Saturday. Frankly, Michigan State’s first half was beyond embarrassing, but I have to give kudos to Mark Dantonio for pulling off the second half comeback at Memorial Stadium.

Michigan moved into the top 25 because its beat down on Purdue was quite admirable. Several prognosticators picked Purdue to win the Big Ten in the preseason, and after Wisconsin, Nebraska and Michigan State received early losses this season; however, Michigan was able to lay a 44-13 drubbing on the Boilermakers. Michigan is 3-2 and its only two losses were against the No. 1 and 9 ranked teams in the nation. I’d say they are well deserving of a top 25 ranking.

Northwestern was dropped from the rankings altogether after being beat by Penn State 39-28. Running back Venric Mark looked great once again, but he didn’t do enough to get his team the win. The same could be said for gadget-man Kain Colter. Nebraska was knocked out of our ballot as well.

Here is how our Week Seven ballot turned out…
