Michigan State football at Indiana – The Spartans had to come back from a 17 point deficit, but the Michigan State football team was able to pull out the win against Indiana in Bloomington on Saturday 31-27.
Michigan State’s defense did not get off to a very good start, allowing two Cameron Coffman touchdown passes in the first quarter. Coffman completed 33 of 48 passes for 282 yards and finished with three total touchdown throws.
However, MSU posted 17 unanswered points of its own in the second half to seal the win at Memorial Stadium.
Quarterback Andrew Maxwell looked a lot better today against an inferior Indiana opponent than he has throughout the past couple weeks against teams like Notre Dame and Ohio State. Maxwell completed 24 of 40 attempts for 290 yards and two touchdowns. Le’Veon Bell carried the ball 37 times for 131 yards and two scores, and Aaron Burbridge hauled in eight receptions for 134 yards.
The Spartans are 16-1 in games where Bell has a rushing touchdown.
Michigan State football (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten) will host the Iowa Hawkeyes next Saturday in East Lansing at Spartan Stadium. Indiana will host the Ohio State Buckeyes at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington next Saturday at 8 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
