Big Ten: Penn State football destroys Illinois in Champaign 35-7

Penn State football at Illinois – Penn State football easily stole a road game against Illinois 35-7, as the Illini turned the ball over three times in Champaign.

Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin completed 18 of 30 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown. Zach Zwinak added 19 carries for 100 yards and two scores on the ground for the Lions.

Illini passer Nathan Scheelhaase was able to net 270 yards, but he also threw two interceptions to Penn State defenders.

Also contributing to the Illinois loss was the team’s eight penalties for 69 yards. Penn State football only recorded two penalties for 17 yards.

Penn State (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) will host the Northwestern Wildcats next Saturday at Beaver Stadium. Illinois football (2-3, 0-1 Big Ten) will travel to Camp Randall Stadium next Saturday to take on the Wisconsin Badgers.
