Indiana at Northwestern football – Despite a rugged third quarter comeback by Indiana, Northwestern football managed to sneak out a win in Evanston against the Hoosiers 44-29.
Northwestern (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) was able to gain 394 yards on the ground against Indiana. Quarterback Kain Colter carried the ball 14 times for 161 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Venric Mark was also able to carry the ball 29 times for 139 yards and a score.
Trevor Siemain, Northwestern’s other quarterback, was able to complete 22 passes on 32 attempts for 208 yards. However, he did throw an interception.
Indiana (2-2, 0-1 Big Ten) was able to move the ball, but it wasn’t enough to catch up to Northwestern’s 704 total yards on offense. Running back Stephen Houston was able to net 91 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries for the Hoosiers.
Northwestern travels to Beaver Stadium next Saturday to take on Penn State. Indiana will host Michigan State at Memorial Stadium next Saturday.
