Michigan State football No. 19 in Spartan Avenue’s Week Five Top 25 Ballot

Michigan State football remained at No. 19 on Spartan Avenue’s Top 25 Ballot in Week Five after bearing Eastern Michigan 23-7. The win wasn’t impressive enough to move the Spartans up the ballot, and for a minute, we thought MSU was going to get upset by Eastern Michigan.

Notre Dame was the biggest winner this week, as the Fighting Irish moved up seven spots to be ranked No. 8. I don’t believe Notre Dame will be able to continue its dominance because the team’s schedule continues to get stronger and head coach Brian Kelly is yet to figure out whom he wants leading his offense. Outside of Kansas State, Notre Dame had the most impressive win of the weekend.

Northwestern was put in the ballot this week, but that isn’t a slight toward Minnesota. Minnesota’s wins were just as impressive, but I’d like to see the team win one or two more games before I start taking them serious as a national power.
