Michigan State football No. 18 in Week Five USA Today Coaches Poll

Michigan State football jumped two spots in Week Five’s USA Today Coaches Poll, a poll made up of 59 FBS head coaches who are members of the American Football Coaches Association, after winning 23-7 against Eastern Michigan. The coaches were nicer to Michigan State than the AP writers were this week because the Spartans are ranked No. 20 in the AP Top 25 Poll.

Spartan Avenue’s top 25 ballot features Michigan State football at No. 19, so everyone, writers and coaches, seem to be on the same page as to how good the Spartans appear to be on the field.

There is still optimism for Michigan State, as the team will be able to ascend the rankings with eight games left for the Spartans to play. MSU should still be able to make the Rose Bowl if the team can win-out the rest of the way.
