Big Ten: South Dakota embarrassed by Northwestern football 38-7

South Dakota at Northwestern football – Northwestern football recorded 408 total yards, as the Wildcats embarrassed South Dakota 38-7 Saturday at Ryan Field in Evanston.

Running back Venric Mark carried the ball 16 times for 117 yards, three touchdowns and a yards per carry average of 7.3. Tony Jones recorded four receptions for 63 yards.

Quarterback Kain Colter had injured his wrist early in the game, but was able to return to help punch another touchdown into the end zone for Northwestern.

The Wildcats (4-0, 3-0 home) beat an outmatched opponent from the FCS Saturday, as the team closed out the nonconference portion of its schedule. Northwestern football will host Indiana next Saturday to kick off its Big Ten conference schedule.
