UAB at Ohio State football – It sure was a close call for the Buckeyes Saturday, and where would No. 16 Ohio State be without outstanding quarterback Braxton Miller?
Miller added 143 yards through the air, 64 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns, as Ohio State football narrowly beat UAB in Columbus.
Ohio State football (4-0, 4-0 home) needed the run game to pull this win out. As a team, the Buckeyes rushed for 204 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Philly Brown reeled in four catches for 67 yards, and, on defense, Doran Grant helped the Buckeyes by nabbing an interception.
UAB football (0-3, 0-2 away) relied on its special teams to get on the scoreboard. Nick Adams put up the lone first quarter touchdown of the game after returning a blocked punt 20 yards for a score. Kicker Ty Long added three field goals for UAB.
The Blazers host Tulsa next weekend at Legion Field. Ohio State kicks off Big Ten conference play by traveling to East Lansing to take on Michigan State football Saturday.
