Ohio State’s Kenny Hayes transfers to MSU

Kenny Hayes, a former Ohio State defensive end, is transferring to Michigan State, according to 247sports.com.

The Lansing State Journal had the following to say about Hayes:

Hayes, who is 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, was redshirted last season as a true freshman while at Ohio State. He missed the Buckeyes’ spring practices.

Hayes’ father Al Davis declined to comment on the transfer when reached by telephone on Sunday night.

Hayes had 47 tackles, including 11 for loss, while earning All-State honors at Toledo Whitmer as a senior in 2010. He was regarded as a four-star prospect by recruiting services Rivals.com and Scout.com.

Anybody who is good enough to play for Ohio State, or at least be recruited by Ohio State, will be good enough to play for the Spartans. It will be interesting to see how this transfer pans out.
