Tight end Sims records 171-yards receiving in Spartans’ scrimmage Saturday

No, the title is not reporting the statistics I recorded while playing as the Spartans in NCAA Football ’13 for the Xbox 360. However, it is fair to say that junior tight end Dion Sims put up video game-like numbers at Saturday’s scrimmage.

Sims, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound monster made 10 catches for 171-yards and a touchdown in what appears to be an unrepeatable performance.

It is doubtful that he’ll put up the same type of numbers against the Boise State Broncos in the season opener on Aug. 31, but today’s performance leaves fans anxious to find out if he actually can do this in a meaningful game.
