Another Big Ten coach gets his walking papers Friday

It appears it’s not a good day for Big Ten basketball coaches who had (somewhat) high expectations heading into the 2011-12 season..

Early Friday morning Illinois Bruce Weber got fired and in the late afternoon, it was Nebraska’s Doc Doc Sadler who was shown the door.

Sadler’s Cornhuskers went 12-18 this season with a 4-14 record (tied for last) in the Big Ten.

He still had two years remaining on his contract and is due $3.4 million.

Last season in the Big 12, Sadler led the Huskers to a 19-13 record.

In Nebraska’s first season in the Big Ten, expectations were that the Sadler’s team would be a middle-of-the-pack team with an outside shot of making the NCAA Tournament.
