If there was any doubt that Michigan State’s Draymond Green was going to play this weekend against Michigan, well, doubt no more.
Green, who suffered a knee injury last Tuesday against Illinois, sounds like he is good to go.
“I’m fine, I don’t have to convince anyone of anything,” Green said Friday. “This is Michigan State and we’re built on toughness.”
The Spartans (17-5, 6-3 Big Ten) battle Michigan (17-6, 7-3)on Sunday at home. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on CBS.
At first, Green’s injury seemed to be quite bad, but the X-ray came back negative and it was just something that was going to be sore for a while.
“It’s just one of those things that you gotta work your way back into everything and that’s what I’m doing,” Green said.
And if anyone thought he would sit against Michigan — his final regular-season game against Michigan — think again.
“I’ll sit out next game, but I won’t sit out this game,” Green said.
Oh, and this was his message to the Wolverines: “Tell them to go at me. We’ll see if I can move on Sunday.”
